Regulation of Derivatives Markets in Québec
The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) looks forward to the coming into force of the new Derivatives Act on February 1, 2009. Recognizing the explosive growth in derivatives markets and products, the new Act will provide a modern, flexible framework for derivatives products that is adapted to the industry.

Québec, June 19, 2008 − The Minister of Finance, Minister for Government Services, Minister responsible for Government Administration and Chair of the Conseil du trésor, Monique Jérôme-Forget, is proud to announce that the National Assembly has passed the Derivatives Act.

Proposed Framework for Regulation of Derivatives Markets in Québec – August 2007
The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is publishing for comment a proposed framework for the regulation of derivatives markets in Québec. The proposal documents contain a proposed legislation and regulation as well as proposed policy statements in respect of derivatives.
The proposals published by the AMF are not proposals of the Government and may be implemented only after they have been submitted to the legislative process and the ensuing legislative provisions have been debated in and duly adopted by the National Assembly.
